What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health care profession which deals with a person’s ability to perform his/her daily routine activities. It includes self-care, productivity and leisure activities.
Role of Occupational Therapy in a school / Learning Environment - The performance of a student / learner depends on his / her developmental, physical, cognitive, sensory and academic skills - Gross and Fine motor abilities, visual-motor integration and visual perception are necessary for reading, writing, mathematics,manipulation    of tools (scissors, compass and ruler), sports and games. - The role of OT in a learning environment is to help the child face these academic challenges
